"We were staying locally, and Russell's was recommended by our hosts. There was clearly some nervousness, because it was so soon after lifting of Covid restrictions, but the proprietors had prepared well, and we enjoyed a lovely evening – in spite of a pompous prat in a kilt, who tried to insinuate that we were invading his personal space by being in Scotland. Turned out he was an English surgeon from Inverness, 80 miles away! The food was great, too."

"Only two vegan options, both main courses, no starters. After they had told me that they had no vegan desserts, they then said that all their ice creams were vegan, not confident that they were so they had none. The staff did not seem to know what vegan actually is. The options were gnocchi and vegan fish and chips, I had the gnocchi with vegan parmesan that tasted beautiful. It was roasted inside and people smoke outside so remained inside. Not the best experience."

"A free table during dinner time at a good Fort William restaurant is a rarity. If you intend to come here, get here early or reserve a table! We tried this place 3 different days and only got a table on the 3rd try at 5:15pm. Overall a solid meal to finish off a long day of cycling around Fort William. Enjoyed the 10oz steak with peppercorn sauce, chips, and onion rings. Service was good and fast. Only let downs were 1) the chips, which tasted a bit bland 2) slightly pricey at ~20GBP for the meal no drinks ordered"

"We visited the Harry Potter Viaduct and were able to park in the free parking lot to the right (coming from Fort Williams). We went to the Glenfinnan house because I had read that they served vegan Haggis what: they do! The atmosphere is really not suitable for vegans as they have many more dead animals on the walls, but it is super typical scot, the staff is super nice and the food was really good! An amazing option for vegans (determined book your table in advance! , with magnificent views of Harry Potter 's Great Lake ."
