I came scores a blog that recommended trying Käsespätzle (German spaetzle) while in Fussen and this was one of the restaurants that came up in my search....

Great service and great food! The sautéed mushroom appetizer was really yummy. My husband and I each had salads tuna and turkey and both were excellent.

"We stopped at Eiscafe Hohes Schloss for a much needed ice cream after climbing up to Neuschwanstein Castle. The menu is in both German and English and is very extensive, with page after page of ice cream creations and photos to aid decision making! There's...a wide selection of alcoholic sundaes and others are very inventive, being made to look like pasta dishes! We opted for the Baileys Becher (I'm advised the alcohol content was very generous and the Cookies Becher. This came with delicious cookies and three flavours of ice cream, all of which were very tasty and moreish! We sat in the outside seating area and watched the world go by; what could be more relaxing than sitting back in the sun with a large ice cream?! The only reason for my score not being is due to the confusion over our change in that none was given!! Payment here is by cash only and I was prepared for the fact that it is usual to round up to the nearest euro but the waiter took our money and walked off, without even offering us our change or us telling him to keep the difference, so we ended up tipping about without any choice in the matter!"
