"My Husband and I visited this wonderful little place in Surfers Paradise,what a hidden Gem The food was excellent, the service was outstanding our host was Nick very professional young man so attentive and very charming explaing in detail the dishes we were going to have. The menu is fresh and innovating catering for vegetarians. The ambiance very quirky reminisant of cafe/bars in Melbourne.We felt very special while we were there thankyou Black Coffee Lyrics for a wonderful dinning experience."

"This was such a lovely dining experience. The service was friendly and attentive from the minute you stepped inside. The setting had such a beautiful ambience...perfect for anniversary celebrations. The food was fantastic for the most part. Favourites were the souffle with white chocolate sauce, the surprise dessert for our celebration and the cheese platter. The duck was beautifully cooked but a bit bland , but apart from that everything was superb.....lovely soup and starters. Thank you for a lovely evening. We will definitely be back."

"Highly recommend the bacon egg and almond croissants. Coffee was actually not too bad. Gets busy from 8am on the weekends. I didn't like the hazelnut caramel tart much though."

"UPDATE 15/11 I am happy to announce that Alfred's has improved upon their brekky burritos. I have been multiple times since leaving the below review and the bacon is now fully cooked! Plus the size of the coffee cups are finally bigger so they're better value for money! Alfred's now gets a 5/5 from me. They easily have the best brekky burritos on the coast :D Pet friendly with all tables being outside for this. <br/ <br/ ORIGINAL REVIEW:<br/ Good brekky burritos BUT what would make them drastically better is if they cut some of the fat off the bacon (I've had burritos where there's barely any meat and literally almost all fat) and because they don't cook the bacon enough to make it a bit crispy, this makes the burrito soggy and super chewy. An easy fix, hopefully they see this review!"

"Had a really top coffee here today. The barista accidentally served someone in front of us and was so apologetic and polite about it. It really didn't matter to us as we in no hurry but the sincerity and great customer service was a real credit. The place has a great vibe. Very happy and cheerful. We even received a complimentary raw caramel slice which was probably the best I've tasted. Would recommend this place without hesitation."

"We'd been wanting to try this place for months and finally booked a table for a Thursday night. There was a children's party booking and it was quite busy but the service, food and ambience were still great. (funnily enough, my vet was at the party. He clearly has good taste in pizza! We ordered a veggie pizza, a ravioli and some garlic bread. Soooo good! The staff are really friendly and welcoming. It's just a really nice, laid back vibe to eat well priced, excellent Italian food while watching Chevron Island life go by."
