"I love this place! It 's very retro looking straight out of the 1950s. But the main attraction is (of course) the frozen custard. It 's made right there, and in addition to the basic chocolate vanilla options, every day of the month has its own featured flavor. We were there most recently for espresso coffee flavor, which was divine. There are a lot of concoctions to be made with the frozen custard: plain cones, sundaes, milkshakes, etc., so you don 't ever have to have the same thing twice if you don 't want to! My husband I live about 10 miles away, but stop there for dessert any time we 're in this area. Highly recommended!"

"This is the full diner experience. Duct tape on every seat? Check. Waitress who knows every customer and yells at them (and the customers dish it out, too! ? Check. Typical diner food elevated by the atmosphere? Check. Inexpensive? Check. What did I order? Who cares. Establishments like this are getting hard to find. If I lived in the area, I'd bring my daughters every week. Fred's is a slice of Americana that reminds you of those days when everyone put in a hard day's work for honest pay. Tip your server well; she's earned it!"

"In town for work and place is walking distance so stopped in got a Sammie burger w/cheese. First bite all I could hear was Samuel L Jackson in my head…..if you don’t get reference, it’s a TASTY burger! Will definitely be back for price too. I only got the burger for $6 but combo is available for just couple dollars more."

"Awesome little drive in from the 50s. Food is comparable to many other fast food places but the real experience for going is the service (definitely try the floats curds though! . Great waitresses with wonderful customer service, even put on the hot dog outfits and posed for pics with my 5 year old nephew. We pretty much always stop here after visiting Volo Car museum or Russell Military Museum, each about 20 min away!
