We had a long, relaxed lunch with 6 friends. This restaurant was ideal. The view over the ocean is quite lovely, the upper floor of the surf club is comfortable and informal, and the food and service couldn't be faulted. Meal servings are quite large, and taste genuine and home-cooked. They are amazingly well priced for the amount and quality of the food. Maybe it was the rain. We have eaten there twice before and it was all good. But this time the food was not on point. The bruchetta was rock hard and the calamari was tough, but more disappointing was they told us, after the meze...plate came out, that they had no dolomates left at 12pm. "In the last 2 years in newcastle, I almost feel that the best places to have vegetarian indian food for me were: coast curries saphir namastey indian charlestown, maitland I was pleasantly surprised when I went to dinner last night. with friends. what have we ordered? 1. handi paneer aka kadhai paneer 2. soja chaap masala 3. veg manchurian 3. brote garlic naan, bullet naan, butter naan 4. just a few drinks what we liked? eating was very tasteful no floating oil only the right part of taste, aromen, portion size paneer soya chaap were surprisingly very soft what we did not like? drinking were ordered before bringing on table glass size for serving scotch were too small a little more attention by employees can be helpful to be overall service, ingenious eating, super taste definately on my top 2"

"Maybe its because I lived in America for a year and became used to exceptional service, but the wait staff were slow and could not handle a large group of 20+ . I understand they can not split bills but they would also not allow us to pay different amounts through eftpos OR order in individual groups. I had to ask where my sons pizza was, they said it was burnt and they were remaking it only to have it come out burnt. Really disappointed for the price you pay for a meal."
