I had lunch at this restaurant with my partner and my elderly mother-in-law. The menu was just the right size—not too large and not too small. They really enjoy this pub! There's plenty of parking available, and a nice courtyard for smokers. The lunch menu is great, and the staff are friendly and helpful.
I had a delicious meal with the lamb shank, which was cooked perfectly. The staff was fantastic, making it a lovely little pub. I would gladly drive from Winchester just to eat here again.
The food was fantastic, but I found the pricing for the Sunday roast quite confusing. It was advertised as a fixed price for the main course and dessert, but when I opted not to have dessert, I was informed that there would be no discount for skipping it, even though the dessert was supposedly discounted. After leaving, I realized that the dessert hadn't actually been discounted, and we ended up being charged full price for both the main course and the desserts we didn't want. I would prefer to pay a fair price for just the food I want instead of being compelled to order an unwanted course.
What a fantastic pub with an enjoyable overnight stay! We spent two nights here and thoroughly loved our time. The pub features three rooms in converted stables, and our room had everything we could possibly need— a comfortable bed, a cozy atmosphere, and a spacious en-suite bathroom. This is a traditional local pub with a great variety of meal options. Gaz and Emma, the owners of this charming Tudor hostel, were the most welcoming hosts imaginable; nothing was too much trouble, and the staff were exceptional. The food was delightful, and they offer an excellent selection of craft and keg beers, plus they’re dog-friendly! If you're in this lovely corner of Hampshire, I highly recommend staying in the beautiful village of Crondall. I can’t wait to return!
