"Warning: Cash only! There isn't a cash machine handy nearby either, otherwise, this place is brilliant. It's exactly how I like my pubs, no pretence. Just great food (once you decipher the extensive menu) with generous portions at good prices. A large selection of whiskey and cider. There was a selection of beers on tap and what I had was well kept and tasty and, as far as I know, they brew their beers on site. The staff were friendly and welcoming, as were the patrons.I will be coming again."

"The two slowest barmen that we’ve ever encountered. Made no attempt to serve customers in order, leaving a few of us standing like we were invisible for a good 10 minutes, whilst others came and went. Then one of them wandered off to make a coffee for the pair of them, leaving customers looking at each other in amazement. It wasn’t especially busy, but we would have been waiting a very long time to be served if we had continued to wait, but we went elsewhere."

"Had lunch here with my husband, meal was gorgeous, can honestly say best fish chips we've had for a long time, massive compliment that coming from my hubby who usually never eats the chips, staff were brill, very friendly and helpful, gardens are absolutely gorgeous, lovely spot"
