"Was a fantastic place for kick off for a Hen's night for a beautiful bride to be. We drove out from Cootamundra. Pleasant atmosphere. Food Coffee is awesome. Service is quick even with a crowd. Superb shop with great variety, even some quirky things. Well worth the trip out."

"We have been ardent fans of the Sir George since the previous owners transformed this historic hotel into an inspiring oasis. Firstly I acknowledge the existing setting, gardens and renovations conducted by the previous owners remain very pleasant and inviting. However this is our second...visit since the change of ownership in 2021 and despite the property costing the new owners $14million to acquire I can only assume, in the presence of constant negative reviews , they are not perturbed by their failure to uphold the standards of their predecessors. Our first post-sale visit was disappointing but we excused this as a one-off, however this latest experience has driven home the recent change of ownership has not been a favourable one in the history of this wonderfully significant property. Our meal consisted of tough overdone, unadorned salt and pepper squid followed by expensive tasteless steaks. We requested these medium rare and medium respectively and both arrived well done, tough and gristly with flavourless sauces despite the hefty price. I am genuinely disappointed that I will no longer be recommending friends and family take this side trip on their journey. If this decline is due to a shortage in adequately qualified staff the prices need to be amended to reflect current quality. Charge pub rates not fine dining rates. To the new owners ,Fraser Short, rather than offering a glib generic response to this review it would be far more beneficial if you were to put your energies into honouring the fine establishment this venue was when you purchased it. The surrounding businesses also depend on your success."

"Service is upstairs and beyond, all helpful. great meal selection and good price (not high for fake food) they ask for maic and get real kartoffeln not deb, others sweet are not soggy and limp. will stop at any time and tell my friends how great they are."
