"Everything is completely new! a great concept was very well implemented architecturally and kulinaically! in the large courtyard you can sit outside and feel like a cursor inside the old walls, but inside the huge floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows allow a breathtaking view over city, river and weinberge. the local is so nicely built that you can still enjoy the beautiful view even from third row, because the room is built in terraces, whereby of course the tables are the most desirable (and quickly occupied) on the window.Maybe better it is no longer possible - except for the service that is always friendly but still has to be significantly improved (only find a card for three people, rather tasty service). the prices of the dishes - for this tourist city and this special attraction - are surprisingly favourable and especially for the quality served. the calves are excellent (as in a previous evaluation also visually confirmed).The price level for open weain (and drinks in general) is awkward because apart from two offered 0.2 l for 4.30 € (both very good!) you will find only overpriced from 5.70 € upwards; that is clearly too much. most weinbergs have to be in front of you, all weeps should come from an environment of only 15 km - so the transport costs should not be too high. this annoyance should be eliminated. Whether you walk up from the city through the weinberge (but there is even a bus up!) or from the parking lot of the (closed former) youth hostel a steep pavement way descends, it is definitely worth it!"

"Absolutely incredible museum for a nostalgia trip to Germany's past, from early 20th century. It is not just the extensive German automobile and motorcycle collection that is worth seeing, it is also for anyone who is interested in German culture and elements of daily life from the recent past. Replicas of Pharmacy, Toy and Kiosk stores, Postal Office, Petrol Station, Driving School, Camera store, Bicycle Repair shop, Coffee Store, and others, have been beautifully and lovingly reconstructed with countless original items on display. Amazing. Well worth a long detour to visit."

"Wenn man wirklich mal Lust auf Döner hat ob vegetarisch oder fleischig, ist Serhat die aller erste Adresse in Idar-Oberstein. Die Portion für kleines Geld nicht zu schlagen,die Salate frisch, die Sauce sensationell. Aber vor allem die immer gute Laune von Serhat ist nicht zu toppen. Seit über 10 Jahren sicherlich ein Garant für Qualität, Frische und Preis . Sie werden sich danach die Finger lecken. Versprochen!"

"My husband and two German friends stayed here for 3 nights. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely blonde receptionist dressed in traditional german dress - she was so helpful and spoke fluent English and German.We were all shown to a fantastic room(s) which seemed newly developed/decorated, it was light, clean and very spacious. The bathroom had a shower, toilet and sink and was extremely clean and sparkling. The bedding was soft and so clean and fresh.The breakfasts were very nice comprising of hot plate of bacon and eggs, variety of breads and meats, jams, butters, fruits, fruit juices and water. Plenty fresh coffee and a great selection of teas. The waitress was very cheerful and helpful.We stayed twice for evening meals and enjoyed our food. The waiters were all helpful and cheerful and nothing was to much trouble.We tried the veal schnitzel, pork steak, fish wrapped in bacon, pork schnitzel - all were delicious. The chefs famous pancake was very delicious and worth trying but ask for cream or ice-cream to go with it.The hotel has an outside seating area for food/drinks - weather permitting.The hotel has a private car park at its rear and is gated and secure.This hotel is really worth the money and I would recommend it for sure - I am a really fussy person and would say this is well worth staying at and we will be visiting again next time we plan to go to Germany."
