star donuts is the only traditional donut shop I found in the mission Hills/Hillcrest area. in the country of high retirement it is a shade that must be supported. a note, star: their cake donuts are either boiled under or the oil is not hot enough to get a slightly crunchy surface that would bring them to 5 stars. Checking the reviews for good donuts, and this store seemed highly recommended. Donuts are a dietary splurge for me, but I couldn't get past bite #2.
