"It's never happened to me here that a dish came cold on the table. The selection of drinks leaves nothing to be desired.The inn is truly extremely aesthetic. No cheap decoration, but it was all very good looking to each other.The correctness of the staff is really impressive.I really recommend this restaurant!"

"Meissen is a pleasant enough town dominated by the Albrechtsburg which we did not visit and the cathedral which we did. The Domkeller is in the square reached by at least two separate sets of steps or by a funicular round the other side of the hill and quite a walk from the town centre. As other reviewers have noted there is a marvellous view of the town, there are binoculars and sunglasses on the outside tables, sadly on the day we were there the rain did its best to block the vista. Instead of the usual leather purses staff bring round music boxes when it is time to pay. The food was good my wife recommends the potato sausage soup."

"Three years ago, I was able to give a 5 star rating here. Unfortunately I cannot do this today.We celebrated our anniversary yesterday and have reserved a table on the lower terrace. In advance, when booking, I asked for the table to be decorated a little accordingly, that was not the case.The view over the roofs of Meißen is still beautiful, a plus point are the heaters and ceilings that provide a pleasant temperature.We were then disappointed by the service: a reason why we liked to come here for dinner were the friendly, attentive and dressed waiters. Now the workwear is startised and modernized that does not fit into such a rustic restaurant. Furthermore, it felt kindness and customer orientation. Unfortunately we were only made, for the tip at the end there was not even a thank you.We were also surprised by the menu, the high prices and the small portions: to the wine festival was made extra one card, the original card glued. The supplements on the plates were larger than anything else on the plate, unfortunately one could not be filled with only one carving and one hand full of roast potatoes. The price of the onion cake for almost 8€ is also not justified. In the end, we paid 60€ for 2 people and were unfortunately neither satisfied nor happy.In the end, we wanted to use the 5% bonus on the map. It says literally: The amount can be deducted *equal*... of course, it did not. It is only possible from the second visit. Then it is unfortunately incorrectly described in the menu and should be changed to avoid further disappointed customers.I am not sure if we will come back again. Too bad, otherwise the restaurant had always liked us with its friendly service, delicious food and great ambience."

"Enjoyed our meal here. Food was good, service very friendly. Small restaurant (like most in the old town), but good food selection. Lunch service appears to end in mid-afternoon, although maybe that's just for the winter season. We saw a few people stop by for...food after we ordered, but the kitchen had closed until evening. Europeans do love to smoke, and this place allows smoking in the evening, so that's something to consider for those who prefer smoke-free dining. We enjoyed our lunch very much though. One of us spoke German, but they also offer menus in English, although the English versions seems considerably shorter than then German one."
