My title sounds a bit extreme but in my experience it is totally accurate. I tried several restaurants in St John's which were all disappointing and a highly rated one in Rocky Harbor. Again not very good. The Black Spruce is located in Neddies Harbor inn and serves dinner to inn guests and is open to the public. What User doesn't like about The Black Spruce Restaurant:
Ordered the catch of the day which was Halibut w Hazelnuts. The Halibut was dry and overcooked and looked like the dish sat under the heat lamps too long before coming out. Two waitresses came over and asked how it was and I told them it was dry and overcooked. Both waitresses did nothing about it besides say sorry to hear about that.
