"I’m sure the place is great but it’s closed til August 24th for vacation. I will be nice and give 3 stars. Looks like a cute place! However we drove all the way from Schaumburg as they have great ratings and good menu unfortunately they had a sign taped up on the door saying they are on vacation until August 24th! I wish they would have posted this on their Yelp and google maps site (updated hours). Waste of time and gas!"

"Incredible food. I was seated in a pretty bleak side room not near any of the windows overlooking the river, so didn't get much of the ambience of the main dining area, but it certainly didn't detract from the DELICIOUS food! Stocked homemade soup and salad bar was SO delicious. And the homemade meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and mushroom gravy were both filling and pleasureful. Wait staff was top knotch friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make everything enjoyable. Truly awesome lunch experience."

"I visited this restaurant a few times; my favorite dinners sit outside in summer with some summer drinks and great company. This past visit was a great time, but I took a star away for the overcooked ribeye. It looked like it's done perfectly, but what I've been drilling for was actually burned. Not that I'm a steak connoisseur, but I often do big steak houses like Sullivan and Ruth's Chris, so I know the difference between carved and burned. There was a burned taste on almost every bite. The brussel sprouts were also somehow abandoned. They were good, but I had much better so I expected from a noble place like The Turf Room. They tasted as if they were seasoned with salt and pepper. You could be so much better. They grilled vegetables on the other hand were delicious! It wasn't all terrible, it was a great night and we enjoyed some delicious drinks. We'll be back. I'll stay away from the rib and Brussels sprouts the next time."

"The food was fine. Pretty good, but nothing to write home about. I would eat it again for sure as a quick bite to eat or a late snack. Service was really good. As good as service can be through a drive through at least. Very nice and pretty quick. The dining room was closed though and that wasn't an option at all. It said it was due to staffing issues which I definitely understand during these times but was still included in my thoughts. *in response to the owner*"

"Fantastic ambience both indoors and outdoors, quality food having some of the ingredients sourced from their own farm and greenhouse, amazing collection of whiskies and a brewery with some very delicious beers. I have all praise for this restaurant/gastropub. Will come back again to try out the Salmon tartar we did not get because they ran out of it and the baked goat cheese. We tried bison burger, ravioli and brisket tacos. Burger was the best having bison patty and a pork belly combo, Ravioli was prepared well. Was not very impressed with Brisket tacos though because there was hardly any brisket and tacos were too small. May try their brisket main entree during next visit. Ended with mango parfait (which felt like a meal in itself) and a whiskey espresso (may need little more body to showcase espresso character) for dessert. Overall loved it."
