"On a Monday evening in Sargans there was not a whole selection open, but this central restaurant seemed to make a roaring trade. The staff is friendly, the menu is enormous and the portions are extremely generous. It's not cheap for what you get, but that's Switzerland. You didn't come here for cheap food."

"Wir waren beim Training des BVB in Bad Ragaz und haben uns für ein Mittagessen im Alten Torkel, Jenins, entschieden. Eine sehr gute Wahl. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen, mussten noch eine oder zwei Minuten warten und erhielten dann einen Tisch in der ersten Reihe auf der wunderschönen Sonnenterrasse. Einfach einmalig, dieser Ausblick ins Rheintal. Das Essen erstklassig. Die Steinpilzsuppe war eine der Besten, die ich je gegessen habe. Das Rindfleisch war zart, die Bechamelsauce perfekt und die Kartoffeln lecker. Für mich persönlich hätte das Fleisch noch etwas länger im Ofen sein können. Aber dies ist Geschmacksache. Zum Dessert dann noch einen gerührten, sämigen Eiskaffee. Auch der war ausgezeichnet. Der Hauswein konnte ebenfalls überzeugen, sollte er auch, denn wir sind hier in einer Weingegend. Diesen Betrieb kann ich nur weiterempfehlen, sei es im Restaurant oder bei schönem Wetter auf der einmaligen Terrasse. Kostenpflichtige Parkplätze gibt es genügend. Diese sind etwa 150 m vom Restaurant entfernt."

"Wir waren Eingeladen zu Fondue Bourguignonne und genossen dieses zu viert.Es gab eine tolle italienische Vorspeise und zum Fondue div. frisch zubereitete Beilagen. Auch die Qualität und die Menge der verschiedenen Fleischsorten überzeugte uns alle.Wir waren äusserst zufrieden und mehr als satt.Der Chef so wie unsere charmante Bedienung bemühten sich um jeden Wunsch.Wir werden auf alle Fälle dieses Lokal weiter empfehlen und freuen uns Heute schon auf einen nächsten Besuch"
