"We planned to stop at Café Guido for lunch while driving around North Vancouver Island. On that day, an unplanned power outage was creating havoc in Port Hardy. Almost all shops and restaurants were forced to close. We managed to get some snacks at the gas station and went for a long beach walk. When coming back, everything was back in order so we were able to get excellent tea and cakes."

"The subway is attached to the mall which is another story, mostly shut down and not much there, a bit run down, but the subway is well kept, clean, the service is good, the food is subway so what can one say but it was fresh and filled the spot. There are not a lot of choices in Port Hardy so Subway is a good choice"

"I visited the Thunderbird Mall early one morning in July 2019 during my visit to Port Hardy. Most of the shops in the mall had not yet opened but I was lucky that the Subway was open at 8 am. I could get some Subs packed for breakfast and take-away. The mall is located centrally in the shopping area of Port Hardy town."

"We enjoyed the location of this pub. A view over the whole bay with eagles soaring in the wind, and boats of all sorts coming and going. The rotunda style room felt like being in a lighthouse, or wheelhouse! After that, we were disappointed. A very limited selection of beer on tap or bottle. The service was appalling. We asked twice for napkins after ordering wings (they were okay) and finally had to go to the bar to get them. We ordered fries, and never got them. Don’t go there hungry! Go for the view!"
