After reading the few reviews, which were mostly negative, we were wondering whether to eat here or not, but as we were staying in the hotel and it was a cold blustery night, we decided we would eat in the bar area. Just a small menu I chose the Cottage Pie and my OH chose beer battered haddock. So when the food came, we were most pleasantly surprised my pie was beautifully cooked and very tasty and the fresh haddock... View all feedback.
What cappleton2 doesn't like about The Villa:
I cannot believe The Villa is not higher in the ratings, it is beautiful. Food and wine was exceptional. We also stayed overnight and breakfast was also great. We will return . View all feedback.
The Villa provided a 5 Star afternoon tea experience. We had our own dining area for a group of 10 friends. The food was delicious and catered for all tastes. The service was spot on, ensuring that everything was fine. I would definitely recommend
Very disappointing return to this restaurant. It’s main attraction is the building and grounds itself. It is still expensive for what you get, and when a Caesar salad doesn’t have any of the advertised anchovies, and the truffle parmesan chips doesn’t have either, then something is wrong. Sad, but it isn’t what it was.
Very disappointing for a 4* hotel. No blue badge parking spaces despite being wheelchair friendly. When we arrived my wife was asked if I would be sitting at the table. I'm disabled but not deaf. The dinner menu was sadly lacking in GF food options. Not worthy of 4* rating.
Poor food in tiny portions. Restaurant certainly doesn't live up to It's surroundings! Won't be returning.
Amazing from start to finish thank you to all the friendly staff who couldn’t do enough and the chefs who created the most beautiful dishes 100 percent recommend
