"My husband & I have been to some truly memorable restaurants during our travels which include France & St Barts. I would put Initiale certainly in the top 5. We went there on our first night & I don't see how this experience can be topped. The ambiance & the service were perfection but the dinner was out of this world. Every dish was prepared as a work of art. Every bite was special. It is owned by Rolande & Ivan. Rolande as the hostess could not have been more charming. She greeted us & seated us at a lovely table. This restaurant is beautifully appointed but yet not stuffy. It is a special occasion restaurant. They have 2 options for their tasting menu. A 5 course & a 8 course. We chose the 5 course. After a spectacular dinner, she brought out meringues to take home & finished w a tour of their kitchen which was as immaculate as an operating room. We had the honor of meeting her husband, Ivan, who is the chef. Thank you for an extremely memorable dining experience."

"From the first glance menu can appear limited and restaurant itself not very busy and that might turn some people away. But people who will not be afraid to give restaurant a chance will be rewarded with excellent meal.Staff is very knowledgeable about the wines and you can also go and pick a bottle of wine yourself from downstairs cellar. For the main courses we have tried three different courses including Filet Mignon, one of specials( sausage), and Le Planche. My 7 year old who didn’t touch anything, but fries and pizza the whole trip, she ate filet mignon and everything else that went along with it and wanted more. All the meats we had were like butter, melted in the mouth, absolutely amazing! We had homemade cherry sorbet and strawberry cream brûlée for dessert both spectacular, fresh, light, sorbet had just the right amount of sweetness, refreshing, nice touch to finish the dinner. Brûlée airy, great chefs’s twist adding strawberry notes, perfection."

"This place is super unique and authentic. Upstairs is a oyster bar with delicious oysters from all over Canada. Also a great selection of wine and spirits. Downstairs is a really cool secret bar using the existing architecture like the old brick and beautiful large wooden beams. Incredible staff here helped make the evening but this is a really cool place. If you liked this place also check out the other places they own, Patente et Machins, and L’Affaire est Ketchup."
