great ambiente and service. the filet mignon was excellent, but the halibut not so much. it was not that melted in her mouth healed. actually it was a fact since I had an amazing healed. sometimes I think it is because the fish has been frozen before freezing and it is not fresh or farm against sea. Brussels Sprouts appetizer was fabulous and the server was great, but everything else was mediocre. Quinoa cucumber salad was just raw cabbage sprinkled with 1/4 cup quinoa and two tiny slices of cucumber. Soup wasn’t warm, burger just okay. View all feedback.
Ate there on Oct 24, 2021. Big disappointment. Not at all like the first or second time we ate there back in 2015. Mushroom appetizer and broccoli appetizer were both cold and tasteless and the rib eye steaks we ordered were more rare than medium like we ordered. The steaks were like warm instead of hot and the thick slice of butter on top never even melted. They had a thick layer of fat on the edges and we had to saw through them instead of cut through them. We both had just a few bites then left them on the table. Definitely not worthy of a $48 price tag each. Service was not up to par like we remember either. When the server asked how things were, I said not very good. She just said oh ok and walked away. Only thing good was the old fashioned drink the bartender made. Never again at this restaurant.
Had a wonderful dinner with my husband and friends on Thursday night. We had an Artisan cheese board and roasted Calamari as a starter. All cheeses were amazing and the Calamari was wonderful! For my head I had the deep sea scallops and pig bell over Polnta and carrots. The scallops were perfect and the pig was super delicate and tasty. For the desert I had the chocolate tonnage and it was rich and delightful. Service was fantastic and our only complaint was that we decided to sit on the terrace and we had a few bees that would not leave us to enjoy our food. We moved inside to enjoy coffee and desert. Our server was super courtesy and we will definitely go back if we have an opportunity!
I have the first reservation at 5:00. We were a little early and they quickly set up our table. I should have taken photos of the drinks, food and dessert, but I forgot that I enjoyed the food outdoors and the delicious food. The outdoor terrace had many heaters to keep the table warm and at a distance beautiful. There were some indoor seating, but we preferred outdoor seating. All dishes were delicious and the service was good. Come back.
This place is the!!! Local, seasonal menus! We come to birthdays and anniversaries or if we find an excuse to celebrate : beautiful local wine selection! Organic food and beverages, tons of GF options and beautiful staff. Quaint and cute!! If you can get their seasonal pheasant risotto, you must!!! Also their halibut and chimichurri are super super super super awesome! awesome!
A true hidden gem. Everything here is fabulous. By far the best restaurant burger I've ever had, from San Francisco, Beverly Hills to San Diego. Avila Beach is where you will find it. Fresh veggies from the garden across the street. Very warm and welcoming staff. We will definitely revisit every time.
