"We came on Friday 1st of all at just after 6pm to be told no food was available as there was only 1 chef not even snacks could be cooked. Saturdays meal that we had booked for our anniversary was very disappointing. Limited choice of wine then when we were served the wine it was just placed on the table and walked away. We ordered steak but the menu had no description of what was included with the steak so we nearly over ordered as the staff never made us aware of this either. When the steak arrived they were over cooked and definitely not medium. Finally we were asked to order our deserts before we had finished as the chef wanted to close the kitchen. Worst experience we have had and definitely not value for money."

"For the second year running when we turned up for our table they couldn’t find our reservation. The restaurant manager just wanted to argue with us, but finally agreed to seat us. It was only 6.30pm and although one large group had finished their meal there was only two other tables in use, and it advertises as open till 10pm. Was disappointed with the menu as it advertises itself as a steakhouse there is only one steak on the menu, it was however cooked lovely but the rest of the food appeared to be frozen."

"Fantastic restaurant in this hotel. We were not staying here but were made to feel very welcome and served up some delicious food at surprisingly good prices. I had the seabass, delicious with some lovely delicate flavours and beautifully presented, my husband had the vegetarian shepherds pie. He thoroughly enjoyed it and it was good to see that, not only did they have a great selection of vegetarian food but some imaginative thought had gone into it and it was all freshly made too. we couldn't resist the sticky toffee for desert and WOW! it was amazing!!! The staff were working very hard; it was the lead up to christmas and the restaurant was very busy, but they were all, not only professional but very pleasant and friendly with it; a real credit to the place. The whole experience was first class and we will definitely be back when next in Aviemore."

"Very good food but at the prices they charge I would expect to have metal cutlery at the table instead of plastic ones. But will still visit next time I am up this way."

"Went in for an early lunch just after 11 and at that moment it was crowded so we managed to snag the last table available. Since it was before 1130 it was breakfast menu available. Two specials available today, mozzarella and pesto panini, plus a brie/bacon/cranberry panini served with chips and sallad. Both panini verions made for a great lunch, pancakes was approved by the children. Small but cozy place and you get good coffee and edibles. Suits grownups as well as kids."
