"If you wish to experience a great dinner at 2200m height with a view on the highest Dolomites peaks, then Da Aurelio is the place for you. We got there when the sun was setting behind Mount Sella, shaping the profile of the surrounding mountains such as Marmolada, Col di Lana and Set Sass. The dinner was absolutely in tune with the amazing standard of the surroundings. We had a tris di baccala (cod cooked the venetian way) with an incredible baccala ice cream on a bed of polenta. The gnocchetti di ricotta were superb, as well as the deer whose meat was particularly tender. Great desserts all home made. Bread was home made. Service impeccable with nice, competent and caring waiters. Very good choice of wines from Veneto and South Tyrol. Chef Gigi Da Riz paid a short visit to us at the end of the dinner. Humble and unassuming he is a member of a family of mountaineers that has been living in the valley for generations and is in charge of the Lodge for three generations. Aurelio is in his eighties and is still the old patriarch, but has handed over the kitchen to Gigi who ha brought the kitchen to another dimension. If you are in Cortina you cannot miss this place even if that means to drive up to Giau Pass (m 2236). All in all 40km go and return but as the French say, ca vaut le voyage!!!"

"The cuisine is innovative, delicious and magnificently presented; the wine list exceptional in terms of variety and quality at reasonable prices; the team so welcoming, knowledgeable; and the service perfect. We came for our first dinner on Thursday and decided not to go anywhere else for the next 5 nights. We tried most of the dishes on the menu and all were excellent. The team at Al Camin made our trip to Cortina very special many thanks to them, and our encouragement to all passing through Cortina to pay them a visit!"

"Wow, what a juwel. excellent pizza and a simple salatable with filzsalat met on the place. perfectly thin pizza, which was also chewy with a sose that was a beautiful contrast. we had server for our table, which means we always had a good service. decor is a modern take on traditional with wood everywhere. appropriate number of parking spaces in front. they even have wifi."

"We actually went on my birthday and I wanted some authentic Austrian food. The food was very good and the service was too. The kids loved the hot dogs cut in a different way and they said they tasted great. The only complaint I had about the evening were the flies. It may be normal in that area because there are cows nearby but it did disturb the atmosphere."

"The place is great on your route from San Candido to Lienz by bike this is a must! Forget the shop, ok that you will find some rare flavours, but they will melt on your way. Book the workshop as it is worth the...stay! great hour building your own Wafer... this is incredibly great!!!!"
