This cafe serves some of the best food I ever tasted as well as a large selection of food it has lots of places to sit and warm up after a long walk. The place it is in is simply beautiful and there are so many walks to do I love going there and I always want to come back View all feedback.
What Trufflesnuffler doesn't like about Chalet Pavilion:
Tea room offers standard National Trust menu with some local variation. This building was a tearoom long before the NT took over and was know as the Swiss Chalet View all feedback.
Broken for a quick cup tee and cake shortly before closing time. personal very friendly and fast service. national trust membership is practical as parking for members is free.

The cafe is efficiently run and we enjoyed the rooftop seating in the sun today. Unfortunately the scone was stale. Quite a shocker for me! What a shame :
I am a member of the National Trust and look forward to their restaurants and tea rooms as part of my visit. However, recent years have often seen me disappointed. This one did at least offer real cups but the scones and cakes were not the freshest. Poor show to offer whipped cream not clotted cream as part of a cream tea. Please go back to local, individual and regional cooking not the mass standard catering that seems to have invaded recently. There are many local cafes nearby that offer much better ambience and food. The plus for this one is its location and roof top terrace.
Excellent. Enough said, roaring fire, only annoyance was a group of locals from the town who considered themselves above the COVID rules to meet up in excessive numbers.
