The Start Bay Inn is a family-run pub right next to the beach, specializing in seafood. Since 1977, the Stubbs family has been running this charming spot. Our menu includes fish and chips, locally caught seafood, vegetarian options, local steaks, and burgers. The scallops are handpicked from the Start Bay sea bed by Paul Stubbs and dressed by family members. Children's menu available, as well as a variety of sweets. The bar offers a good selection of real ales, local cider, and reasonably priced wine. Whether you choose to sit inside by the open fire, in the children's room, or outside on the sea front patio, we aim to provide generous portions at reasonable prices with excellent service. We pride ourselves on being a pub serving delicious food, rather than a restaurant or gastro pub. Our loyal customers keep us busy, and we appreciate their continued support.

Have been here a few times now and the food is always excellent, however today's food was mediocre, the gravy was very watery and the chips bland . Our main niggle was the tall gaunt guy behind the bar who needs to brush up on his customer service skills , a please and thank you when ordering and paying would be a nice touch sir , not just a grunt and no smile .
