Gilpin Lodge just outside Windermere is about as opulent a venue as is possible. Despite that, the food is beautifully presented, in reasonable quantity, and worth every penny. On entrance our expectations together with the other reviews were high. However when presented with a preset £52 5 course menu and a barman from faulty towers expectations took a bit of a dent.
