great place to breakfast, lunch or just a cold drink after a ride/running. glen the cook has some amazing experience and when we asked for plant-based foods, he delivered a fantastic crushed avo for our lunch. large selection of apple and beer wines. recommend this as a great day trip from taupo. What User doesn't like about Tipsy Trout:
Went to go for dinner on a Saturday night at 5.30. Walked in and there was no-one in there. Stood at the counter for a couple minutes to be served, asked for a table for 2 for a quick dinner and got told they were fully booked and couldn't seat us and didn't bother to try fit us. I understand if the place was packed but didn't think they would turn down 2 Kinloch locals that would have been there no longer than 45 mi... View all feedback.

The food is pretty average and the staff doesn't care that we were the last time. Meals came with gluten on the plate, but they made it new. Lack of communication between service and kitchen. Basic foods and uneven working hours. Don't let me be confident or safe food as a celiac there, but is the only option in Kinloch

You take care of Coeliac. Just ask them what is gluten-free on the menu as they do not have gf next to them. Recommend the butter chicken.

We went to the tipsy trout as a birthday present for my partner and absolutely loved it, the burgers were so delicious and fill, by far the best I had from everywhere and the desert was amazing! the personal is so friendly and accommodating. so an amazing experience we have also decided for the next night and it was even better! Many thanks! can wait to come back when we are in kinloch! edit them 1 year later (11/6/22) and we are back to celebrate my partner birthday again. eating was just as amazing personal was so friendly and we had quick and friendly service. we are very happy to come here once a year. many thanks again for a wonderful night

I ordered the Tipsy Big Breakfast my Partner ordered the Bacon Eggs Benedict, and although it was a busy day and it took around 25 minutes for the food to come out, it was tasty and memorable. Will 100% go there again when I come through Kinloch, and it’s a must try.
