"Booked a table on Wednesday 8th November for 2 people, booking was accepted and confirmed. Member of staff called me on Friday 10th November to ask if we wanted to cancel booking as they had a table of 15 and a table of 20 booked and as our booking was only for 2 we would be served after the larger bookings and told we would have to wait a long time for our food. We cancelled, as a booking for 2 is obviously not important to the railway inn management team, having been there several times with several friends and live local I will no longer give them my custom, so I hope the larger bookings will be returning customers as I and my friends will not. Very poor customer service!!!"

"We booked the elephant as a 50th birthday party and at the arrival I was presented with a birthday card that was a beautiful geste, the waitress was very attentive and professional that made the evening more pleasant. when we decided to choose which menu we decided for the tasting menu, as it shows the cook dishes and trusted me that it was not disappointed when it was stunning, but we both agreed that the cod was the star of the show tonight. we recommend both this restaurant"

"We rang to book on wednesday for that evening but it was fully booked, a little later we had a call that there had been a cancellation, as we had not booked another restaurant we decided to go. A great decision we will never regret,...from the moment we stepped over the threshold. Holly the lovely waitress led us to our table, we chose our starters and main courses, marvellous to die for food, and then the coup de grace, the desserts, just heaven, it was so good we returned on thursday evening just to make sure our drinks hadnt been spiked ! wonderful stuff from Werner and his beautiful team.......Yodelayhehe"

"At this strange and frightening time we decided to just be brave after self isolating for a while and go to Torquay for the day and night. We were staying in the area so looked at the reviews for the OrangeTree.They were good so we booked, best thing we did. Lovely welcome, friendly staff, but most of all the food. We chose the tasting menu and it was delicious. Not cheap but not really expensive as it included wine with every course. I have had tasting menus before where the wine was a bit more adventurous but there again paid a great deal more. I wish we lived closer so we could eat there more but if and when we visit Torquay we would definitely eat there."

"Riverford has been on my list for many years. We had a weeks holiday in South Devon and had our last lunch there. Five plus a baby. It was worth the long wait. Great staff, lovely wholesome, flavourful food and good drinks list. The whole family thought it was excellent value as well."
