Contribute FeedbackArtisan Bistro is a polarizing spot among diners. While some found the food questionable and disappointing, others were left raving about the fantastic dining experience. With dishes like wild mushroom crepes and king salmon impressing some diners, the prices are considered worth it for the quality. Friends & family ambiance is enjoyable, but the chilly drafts from the door and loud environment detract from the overall experience. Overall, Artisan Bistro offers a great culinary experience for those willing to give it a try, but improvements in seating and reservation policies could elevate it to an exceptional level.
We had the best food and great service. They noticed we were trying to see a menu outside and promptly brought us one to look at. We had the butterfly garden drink and it was amazing. We also had the house salad with grilled cheese and truffle fries. It was the best I have ever had. Too bad I live to far away to come back
This spot needs to give their head a shake. What on earth are you trying to serve here?? Food was very questionable. Tried for the first time after hearing it was pretty good. Definitely a mistake. Went the safe route and ordered a Chicken burger. Dry sad amount (3 slices) of sliced chicken- smothered in cheese and odd kind of salasa. One base overly rich flavour. Beef burger is passable but would not order it again. Both come with very obvious low bar Sysco fries. Tuna poke appy was good compared to the rest of it. Did not feel well after dining here. Will not be returning. What has happen here? Why is anyone recommending this place??!
The #ArtisanBistro is an excellent option for Victoria. It is a relatively small bistro with approximately 12 tables, in the Broadmead Village Shopping area off Royal Oak Road in Saanich, (Victoria), BC. I had the Duck breast with Yam sauce, au jus and mushrooms accompanied by Pino Gris finished with Crepes Suzettes and expresso. The McCallan Gold was good, but not exceptional. On the other hand the Duck breast was perfectly done with very flavourable sweet Yam sauce and cooked wild mushrooms. The Crepes Suzettes were well done with a good quantity of sauce. The music is a personal taste, so I won 't comment other than to say it was good background without needing shouting to be heard and allowing a nice table conversation for all. My waitress, Julie was pleasant, professional and attentive without being obtrusive. If you are looking for a cheap meal this isn 't where to go. However, if you are looking for a smaller bistro with great food at a reasonable price, this is well worth considering IF a 4.5 rating was available I would have use it!
A simply unbelievably great meal. We have dined at great restaurants around the world and this ranks near the top. Every dish from the wild mushroom crepes to the king salmon to the gnocchi to the maple pecan encrusted chicken al Fredo to the falafel sandwich were first rare. Highly recommended
Get together with friends. Small indoor cafe with limited menu and a few outdoor tables. Was wanting crepes but the online menu hasn't been updated as it is pre-Covid. Fish and chips and service was good. Was expecting more from the reviews.
