"I have had the pleasure of staying at The Hog having come across it online. I had heard about a major renovation after it had been bought by new owners and was unsure what to expect. Upon arrival I was greeted with warmth and welcome from the Reception team and shown to my room. My room was immaculate, well presented and exceeded my expectations. I was able to settle into my room and rested well that night. The following morning I made my way to the restaurant for breakfast and was delighted by the friendliness of the staff and presentation of the restaurant space, not to mention the delicious breakfast that had been prepared for me. I only originally booked a single night, but having met the owners, and explained that I would have liked to stay longer, they were able to ensure my room was available for a consecutive night, which was unexpected and very kind. The hotel is a delight, fairly priced, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone considering booking a stay; you will not be disappointed."

"Although we had not booked table as did not plan to go out for dinner that evening , we were immediately shown to a table. Thursdays nights they have a special deal for each great value for money so we ended up eating...far more than planned. We would highly recommend the Shahi kushboo and the Shatkora dishes we have never had these before (and we have been to a fair few Indian restaurants and they were both delicious. Good portion size. Good wine menu. The service was excellent friendly and knowledgeable staff. We would definitely visit here again if we are in the area."

"Found this marvellous chippy the other day at 3pm, when all the other ones in the area were shut. The portions are massive, the quality is excellent with friendly staff. They do scraps here too, I asked for these at another chippy in the area which I won't name and just got stared at. Also I was told at another chippy, which had closed just before I got there that day, that there wasn't anywhere else open. I intend to use this chippy exclusively from now on, you have free parking for half an hour right outside so why go anywhere else?? Great service, great portions and open all day. Why go anywhere else??"
