"Reading the RAVE reviews I was beyond excited to try this food and we had it delivered to our holiday accom expectations were high. The service was sensational, we got a few free dishes (but they did forget my onion Bhajis) but the foodabsolutely bland and tasteless. I asked for the mattar paneer to be madras hot and honestly it tasted more like bisto gravy. sad to say this, but if you are on holiday, wait until you get home. I love Indian food and I feel so sad to give a bad review but sorry this was really bad, not sure if this is due to the locals not liking spice, I can only give you benefit of the doubt and assume. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options but they are pretty bland."

"This is a really great place to stay. our room was amazing that we had both front and back, a large bed and a nice bathroom. the beautiful touches in the room, such as orange juice, a bowl, a pan au chocolat and proper coffee! we ate breakfast in the hotel on both morning of our stay and could not have the quality and service of the eier benedikt was amazing! all the staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful. the location of this hotel makes it ideal for the beach and is just a short walk to the capital so that it is beautiful and quiet outside the peak season. my only little critique was the light on the staircase, which remains at night and screamed under the bedroom door. we could not find the switch to turn it off, so the kissen ended at the bottom of the door. It worked, but what better would be the installation of PIR lights."

"Excellent food qulaity as top chef here as the food is always top notch. Lovely staff and food is at great prices, Only downside is I would advice to book rather that just walk in often fully booked at weekends. Best restaurant in Beccles...!"

"Found this marvellous chippy the other day at 3pm, when all the other ones in the area were shut. The portions are massive, the quality is excellent with friendly staff. They do scraps here too, I asked for these at another chippy in the area which I won't name and just got stared at. Also I was told at another chippy, which had closed just before I got there that day, that there wasn't anywhere else open. I intend to use this chippy exclusively from now on, you have free parking for half an hour right outside so why go anywhere else?? Great service, great portions and open all day. Why go anywhere else??"

"Very poor service. I hadn’t visited this cafe before and wanted to try it. Ordered our food (sausage and egg breakfast bap) and waited patiently for 30 mins. We were a handful of the people in the cafe so I asked at the counter if it was on its way. The response I got was “it got lost”. 10 mins later the food arrived. After waiting 40 mins for this I was disappointed when the waitress came over for payment and overcharged for food we didn’t have. No apology or customer service. Wouldn’t recommend here try some of the other cafes in Southwold (better value and better service)"
