Cute little hotel in the costwolds. The room was cosy , the bed comfortable. Breakfast was descent even if not much choice. It could get busy/noisy over the weekend if you are in the rooms above the bar. Good experience overall. View all feedback.
What sandmhq doesn't like about The Vines:
I was accommodated in external 'wing ' in ground floor room. It was cold until I found the radiator valve. I had a comfortable bed and relatively little noise from adjacent guests, although I was aware of their presence. However, the oddly located bedside light switches... View all feedback.
We stayed here for two nights as wanted to visit the wildlife park 15 minutes down the road so seemed a great location and price. We booked a double, there was some marks on the walls and a stain on the carpet in the corner but the room smelt lovely and fresh, it was clean, tidy with coffee and tea making facilities and fresh towels. A cooked breakfast was included and a nice size with option of porridge pot, coco pops, toast fruit and jam. There is an Asda and Aldi just 10 mins drive but the other nearest pub seemed at least a 30 min walk. When we went down to the bar the first night (Thursday) it was very quiet, I think more guests/locals did visited Friday. We tried the pizza which was tasty and the staff when we arrived and for both evening and morning was polite.
Stayed here for a night recently, the room was in an annex building at the back of the pub. It was comfortable with a wet room bathroom and small TV. The bar had a small selection of beers, one local lager however the cask wasn't on (Thursday night) which was very disappointing. There was a cat walking round and the smell that accompanies them being indoors (not ideal as I'm allergic and wasn't aware prior to going). I didn't have an evening meal so can't comment on the food. Breakfast was nice table service for cooked, help yourself to filter coffee/tea with a nice home made marmalade. Overall I would give 3 stars, I might stay here again if needed to be in the area.

Booked a weekend stay here to meet with family for Christmas get together. Looking at the website we were expecting very comfortable cosy accommodation and interesting food. The reality was certainly different. The accommodation we were put in was a sort of chalet block of...
We really enjoyed the menu here as it was our type of food, mainly tapas style all reasonably priced which was good value for us as we don't have huge appetites. Be advised however that the small tapas are very small. One point I would...
