We've had dinner at Hofu's on our 4th stay in Zermatt.Great food, especially fondue. Prices are quite high but definitely worthy. Service is great, ambiance is gorgeous and there is a romantic atmosphere.Kase fondue is a must here!! Absolutely delicious. With cold cuts, 2 beers and 1 coffee we spent CHF 107. And if you leave the hotel by feet the owner prepare for you a torch to light your way back.You must stop here... read more.

In nice weather you can even eat and drink in the outdoor area.

What User doesn't like about Hofu's:
This was our first visit and we were expecting great food. We all ordered different hamburgers. The first problem was that they took about 45 minutes to arrive. After about 25 minutes we were told with apologies that there was going to be a delay. When they arrived two were fine but the other two were disappointing. Hofu's from Zermatt is a good place for a bar to a drink after work and be able to sit with friends or alone, Moreover, customers of the restaurant can eat delicious fondue, Zürich-style sliced meat, or even a few crispy Rösti and immerse themselves in the Swiss cuisine. In this restaurant there is also an extensive diversity of coffee and tea specialties not to forget, the restaurant serves also dishes from the European environment.

"The restaurant has views of the Matterhorn from the window and a small terrace outside. The decor is typically Swiss. In the evenings there is a set 5 course dinner, and everything was absolutely wonderful, even the bread and butter! We were served an Alipine herb soup which was quite wonderful, followed by fish with lentils and spinach which were exceptional for texture and flavor, followed by entrecôte of beef with sous vide potatoes and grilled vegetables, and an absolutely exceptional crepe with local apricots, crispy caramelized pumpkins seeds and pumpkin seed ice-cream for dessert. The service was friendly and excellent. Cost was 62CHF per person which seemed very reasonable given the location and the truly outstanding meal."

"Great location for after ski apres at the end of the day. We waited out the line back to sunnegga with a beer. Plenty of taxis come up to bring you into town. Good live music and plenty of seating even if it’s busy. Great cheese board"

"Generous portions of Wallisser Trockenfleisch and a flavorful Gulasch soup set the tone. The Truffle Fondue was a standout, becoming a new personal favorite. The Pork Cheeks were incredibly tender, a delightful surprise. Desserts like Dark Chocolate Mousse and fresh Panna Cotta rounded off a perfect meal. Highly recommend this restaurant!"

"We made a reservation....but not at this restaurant. Our mistake, but the hostess was totally accommodating, despite the restaurant being quite crowded. I had the Ruccolacreme-Suppe (Arugula Cream Soup) which was very good. My wife tried the Raclette (A traditional Swiss dish described on a Google search as based on heating cheese and scraping off the melted part, then typically served with boiled potatoes. Wasn 't sure what to expect, but it was excellent. For our mains, we had the Fondue Bourguinonne and the Fondue Chinoise (3 different meats-veal, pork and beef). Hard to choose which was better, but both were delicious. They came with 5 different dipping sauces. A very fun dinner!"
