"We saw the line outside the window from blocks away. We speculated that whatever this was, it would have to be really good to attract a crowd to wait in the snow. We got on line and were treated to some of the most delicious...fresh crepes made right to order. We had Nutella with banana, and maple with almonds. Both were perfectly cooked, light and delicious. A must have in zermatt"

"From the worst places I've ever been, ever since the moment we sat was unpleasant, especially the smell of tobacco, the staff was more concerned to go out to smoke than to attend, of course the fatal food, confuse mozarella with ventero cheese and the rest has no waste...I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, very expensive and fatal food, in an unpleasant summary"

"The sun terrace of the jägerstube offers magnificent view of the matthorn and a small map with regional and Italian decor. my companion had penne "aum aum," the were al dente and well seasoned on tomatensosse with olive and mozzarella (17 chf.) I had a large salad plate (12 chf) with various fresh salads, egg and cheese pieces on fine dressing. a light red, light glass wein (dôle from the region, 6 chf.) the homemade cake was sold out at our order unfortunately, but looked sinfully delicious. the gastronomy is original and cozy, for example for fondue in winter, and the hostes are authentic and cordial. a Greek service aid serves cheerful, multilingual and attentive.The restaurant is idyllic in the hamlet, about an hour away from distrust. about 20 ancient wooden houses are pushing around a white carpal here. the food and the atmosphere were excellent. we're coming back!"

"We went to the restaurant with kids. They were very welcome and received a whole package to entertain themselves. The food was good. Very friendly service and the prices were correct for Zermatt. We took an apero at the bar which is a very cosy place. Their cocktails are very professional and they have a great choice. A place which is recommendable to all!"

"Top rated chop house with traditional setting and top service. The lemon spring chicken is a MUST eat. Risotto as a starter is also highly recommended. Expensive but worth it."

"Whether you walk down from Gornergrat, or train up from Zermatt, make this your lunchtime destination at Riffelalp. Run by Tanja and Dave, their warm hospitality is matched by their excellent food. We chose the appetising daily specials as we sheltered in their quaint, cosy, upstairs room from a sudden, fierce, Alpine storm.Dave, an exuberant Irishman but longtime resident in Zermatt, tours the tables and might just admit to having some homemade limoncello!"

"Our friends from zermatt invited us to this restaurant that we wouldn't have found by ourselves. It is total isolation with a splendid view of the glaciers. the menu is very simple and consists of traditional dish. cheese croutes with egg and bacon are excellent and the chocolate cake is worth a visit. The welcome is warm. the return after this excellent meal accompanied by a little wine is not necessarily easy if as in our case the blizzard has raised. a good time in our trip to this fantastic place."

"We ended up at Hofu's due to a recommendation from our hotel as we were looking for something special aside from other great place we visited in Zermatt this week. Bit this certainly earned the crown. From the first moment we entered Hofu's after a nice hike up the mountain in the dawn hours of the day we felt like at home. Just to call it great service would not descibe the warmth of interaction we were allowed to experience. And then the food? What a delight! Really exceptional. The fact that the wine list was a little "thin" for our taste was not important at the end of the day. And then to walk down the mountain with a little torch after a fabulous dinner was the final moment of a great evening. DON'T MISS!!"
