"Platform 7 was intended to offer a beacon of hope in the relative blight of apropos coffee houses in this part of Kitsilano. Having inherited the space from its prior Sex-in-the-City tinged occupants, it seemed poised to take a huge leap forward in terms of style and substance. Instead, it's been relegated to the likes of an off-season outpost for ski bums addicted to 90s hits played at a deafening volume. More importantly, despite the ambitious pronouncements of the staff, the specialty coffees often suffer from mediocre execution."

"Extremely expensive for portion sizes. Ordered a salmon sandwich and a cookie. Both very small for a combined price of almost $18! Used to be a go to stop in Olympic Village, but no longer."

"This is a great place to see how the buildings stood at the turn of the century. Renovated store front when corner stores were how families bought their goods. Its now a trendy little coffee shop with lovely outside seating and baked goods."

"I’m not usually one for especially recommending a coffee shop, but Take Five Café is certainly somewhere you should drop into if you are living in — or visiting — the Vancouver area. There are nine locations around town and we happened across the stand in the Pacific Center, where we shopping one afternoon and in desperate need of caffeine to keep us going. We found the espressos we ordered at Take Five to be absolutely fantastic. Strong, deep and flavourful Arabica with a really exceptional ‘kick’ that kept us going. There isn't much on their website to give insight into anything special going on, apart from carefully sourced beans (but all the coffee shops say that) but I genuinely cannot think of a time when I have had a better espresso. Very highly recommended — if you’re in search of coffee look out Take Five and make a special detour there to keep on rocking."

"Good bakery. We got the cinnamon raisin croissant and the butter croissant--both very well baked, which is the most important part. I'm only giving it 4 stars, though, because the interior seating/ambience isn't perfect. It's a bit loud and industrial, so eating in the bakery isn't the most pleasant experience. Great baking though!"

"Before flying back to California I stopped at the Boulongerie la Paisienne in Vancouver for coffee and an almond croissant. Both were excellent. I also bought a loaf of sourdough bread to take home"

The veggie wrap served with jam and carrot cake is worth trying ! The veggie soup( basically lentil soup is also good but not amazing !<br/ <br/ Price is decent !<br/ <br/ *Best place to take afternoon break in UBC."
