"Another gem not on the trendy strip of Tamaki Drive but who cares. The food and coffee is great and cheaper than most places in the area. Eggs Benedict and Fish n Chips delicious. Decor simple but don't judge a book by it's cover. A find."

"The dining area of this restaurant is simply amazing. I really like the olden style windows out front mimic the amazing olden interior. There is an alcove as you come in with an old-style cash register which they use for ringing up the bill. I really like the brick and wood interior with the metal along the edges. The booths were comfortable but I did feel like I was slipping out of my chair most of the time. The food menu is quite large and so trying to pick something was a bit hard. We ended up trying the venison kebab and I went with the Angus fillet with anchovy butter. The venison kebab was three huge cubes of venison served over rice. It was nicely cooked with a nice char around the edges along with the veges. I quite enjoyed the anchovy butter since it gave the meat an interesting flavour and nice saltiness. The option of croquette in place of mash was really nice since that was really tasty. I went with the salad instead of the roast veges and I enjoyed it mostly because it came with a boiled egg. We got the brandy snaps for dessert and they were really sweet and crunchy. The food was quite tasty and the service really nice."

"With so many amazing Italian restaurants throughout Auckland, I wouldn’t have expected to find my favorite one tucked away inside the SkyCity Hotel. Gusto at the Grand is stylish without being pretentious and the staff professional yet personable. On the menu was a delightful array of vegetarian options of which we obviously had to sample as many as we possibly could (note that the menu may have have changed since I visited)...<br/ <br/ "

"The food here is exceptional. So many bursts of flavour in one mouthful it’s too hard to describe! The duck for main and the Pina Colada style dessert were my favourites. This restaurant is also reasonably priced for the outstanding food, customer service and decor. It’s a real treat to eat here."
