"Chose this for a family get together as it was midway between our homes in the West Midlands and South Coast. It was ideal as dogs were allowed and there 's a garden where we could find some shade. Service was fast and friendly. The food was fairly typical for a pub but everyone found something they liked. I would have given five stars for a more varied menu. It was very 'meaty ', not a lot of fish or vegetarian options."

"Eight friends were visiting the nearby Pendon Museum and needed a lunch break. Liam and his mother were super helpful. A private room a good selection of beers (including Butcombe) and a comprehensive pub lunch menu. Those who had the sausages and mash were still talking about them as we drove home to Somerset! The Fishpie was full of fish including smoked haddock, with plenty of cheese and a giant prawn for topping. The burger was pronounced excellent too. The Abingdon brewery Loose Cannon was remarked upon too. Large Sauvignon Blanc went down well too. We did not give more than a couple of hours notice for our visit but received a warm welcome. Food and drink were exceptional. A great pub."

"Beautiful small pub in small village. exelent service and exelent food! Sundays carvery was spot on, all three of us had the roast pork bell served with cheesy leek and brocoli, apple and apple sauce and a common side of veg. everything was boiled to perfection and large portions, so they definitely always great worth for their money. we also had lattes and again they are good quality and creamy. we had a pod table that I could imagine are even better in summer when they are out. do not let them shut off during this winter, as they have put the pods in a jaquee with heating and it is very pleasant to have their own little blase! well decorated and designed. if they are looking for a beautiful Sunday meal, this is the place will be returned defined. (the pictures don't give enough credit to eat!"
