"So, Una Familia took the spot where I'd been taking visitors for lunch or dinner when strolling the Malecon. It's a great location, especially in the evening. I've been there twice this year. The first time, the food was very good, and while VERY new, the service was VERY good, but slow. The second time, the food was okay, but the service was very slow. I'm hoping that they get it together because it'd be nice to have real Mexican food on the Malecon. I'll give it a rest and third chance this fall. We'll see."

"Cafe Vayan is one block block from our hotel ( Los Arcos Resort ) which is on the beach in Zona Romantica as it is known.They were having an all you can eat special for spaghetti bolognese and bread for only 82 Pesos which as of today's posting, July 12, 2017, is $4.62 US dollars which is a great price.Friendly and fast service with complete bar and pastries to go. We purchased a giant blueberry muffin to have the next morning with our coffee from the Oxxo convenience store which is also one block away.There are 829 restaurants in Puerto Vallarta and during July and August you can get seated pretty much in all the restaurants very quickly. "At the Saturday olas altas market they were selling fresh pasta and porchetta! Great samples of several salamis....a perfect antipasto with fresh mozarella you can fine at the store! Great looking sandwiches too and parmigiano padana cheese!"

"Having spent much time in Italy (see TA reviews), I know good Italian cooking. TP is primo Italian cooking. I had pasta pesto with sausage. Memorable. My daughter had tuna on couscous. Memorable. Order the homemade sourdough bread to sop up the incredible sauce. Memorable....Nice wine list. Very knowledgeable and accommodating waiter. Do not miss a memorable evening of superb Italian cuisine…superb cuisine of any type anywhere."

"I love the eclectic design of this place. They have a main dining area, an air conditioned portion that would be great for a group, and an open balcony. I had high hopes that dinner would be as interesting because I do like food from southern Mexico. They make the salsa at the table and along with it they serve homemade tortillas, a creme sauce, and pickled onions. I really like pickled onions but these should have been soaked in the lime juice a little longer. Service was friendly, I have to say they were trying a little too hard, but that is better than not trying to please the customer. I have had Cochinita Pibil before and loved it, so that's what both my friend and I ordered. It came with more salsa, some guacamole, more pickled onions, accompanied by tortillas and broth. Cost was a reasonable $149 Pesos. It was not bad, but it wasn't near as flavorful as when I've had it in the past, so for me this just was not anything special. My friend who had never had this entree before, agreed that it was alright, but not memorable. I will say it is a large serving for the price and beautifully presented. Lots of other reviewers liked their Cochinita Pibil so maybe it was not prepared with as many spices as is normal. Since it was a generous serving we ended up taking leftovers home for lunch the next day."
