"The view was spectacular! The town of Murren was so quaint and cute. But above all the food was world class. And to top that off the service was amazing. I definitely want to come back. My entire extended family of 12 loved the place."

"We were privileged to be in Murren in December in the snow. Most of the town was closed but Hotel Alpenruh was open. We were just going to have coffee, after a snowy walk through the town, but the hospitality we received made us decide...to stay for lunch. First we were given warm furs to sit on, we chose to sit outside in the beautiful sunshine, as well as blankets for our legs. We chose the Rosti and a local beer. The Rosti was delicious, with a perfectly cooked egg on top. The atmosphere created by our waitress had our 3 tables, from different parts of the world all chatting. A wonderful experience, with a view beyond belief."

"As alpine huts go, this is a nice location, with good views of the surrounding Bernese Alps. We were a family with two young children. The sleeping arrangement was the typical mattresses on the floor in the attic with about 30 other hikers (not very...conducive to sleep). The half-pension consisted of salty alphabet soup and spaghetti bolognese for dinner, about average for a Swiss hut, and bread, cheese, jam (no butter), coffee/tea/hot chocolate for breakfast. As a small extra they also had made Swiss müesli. There is nothing wrong with the hut. The only issue is that it is not good value for money for a family. One adult is 70 Francs for night+half-pension. But the child discount is very small, so after adding 2 beers, 2 hot chocolates and 2 strawberry shakes (to motivate the kids) the final bill was over 250 Francs. The better idea is to get a good deal for a family room in Mürren and do a day hike up to the hut."

"This murren-dinery felt like a cafeteria. The menu is limited and it is all meals and potatoes. The spatzli were boiled strangely as if reheated, but calves liver was done beautifully. Cost of easy cooking."

"Location:---------If you like silence, mountains, hiking and paragliding the Mürren is the place to visit. Surrounded by mountains and lush greenery everywhere. Hotel------The hotel was ok but I couldn't find any staff as it seems to be owned by a couple who themselves do all the work. Breakfast----------A relief to see scrambled eggs :-) but there were not many choices in the breakfast. Travel Tip----------Please don't go there on a Sunday as restaurants usually close at 3pm along with the shops."
