"Really unhelpful staff. Despite buying a full round of meals and drinks, the staff were unwilling to get my hungry 4 year old a slice of bread (something on the menu with the soup and something I was willing to pay for) when she had...nothing to eat given they had just taken the pizzas off the menu. Apparently it was too time consuming for them. Disgusted"

"It’s not much. The food here approaches that minimal level of Swiss blandness that combines so well with a half surly, half oblivious style of service that seems almost universal in the valley. Sure, the town is crawling with loud Americans, and sure, they don’t come for the food. But not every guest is a curse…in fact, I believe, guests are are good thing, no? As a former waiter, I speak with no grudges to bear… a tough job, sure, but wow! The Bell is not ringing for me, or for its customers."

"Extremely rude staff They hate tourists but their livelihood depends on it. First when we entered the restaurant they said the back is booked so we sat in front but when other people came in they were welcomed to the area so n the back where they said is booked. I asked why then they started mumbling and making up answers. They called it a stupid question that why their business is tourist based but they depend on tourist."

"The service is slow but friendly. The prices are Swiss _ cheeseburger -okay, chicken burger - tasty, with French fries, beer and a Diet Coke - 48.50 francs. It seems wherever you go - it's pricey in Switzerland. They don't accept credit cards."

"Silberhorn is a sister restaurant of the wonderful Wengener Hof hotel, so based on the Managers recommendation, I went to have dinner at Silberhorn and had the cheese fondue with mushrooms and bacon. I'm wouldn't order anything else as starter soup etc as the...fondue is more than ample dinner ,along with preferably a good local wine or anything else which you would prefer to drink. Overall, very good service from the staff and the best fondue I ate in the Jungfrau region. As a note to American and Canadian travelers, the staff mentioned that this group somehow doesn't tip as I asked my waiter to give me an option to add tips he was pleasantly surprised that being from N.America I asked for option to tip... Something for travelers to think off as this is a tourist dependent town..."

"Although this restaurant is not even mentioned by Rick Steves in his guides, this place is great. The food we had there was the best we had in Switzerland. Both local cuisine with wild sausage or more typical European cuisine, such as Brat baby chicken, were... very good. From their veranda one had a good view of the dustfalls and the surrounding mountains (if it was not cloudy). There were roses on the tables and soft jazz music in the background. But the waiting staff made this restaurant even more. Chris, a summer waiter from Poland, was so good that we had to come back every night in Lauterbrunnen. Thank you. Chris and thank you to the rest of the waiters and the boss of the virgin."
