"Eating here is delicious. always fresh. always highest quality. the ending of a press sandwich is such a bittersweet moment because they are full and satisfied, but it is so good that I only want another. the layout is clean and uncomplicated. the personal is always beautiful. overall a good choice"

"Staying at the attached Holiday Inn Express, I didn't want to go outside to catch some supper. Wandered down the hall to the Free Press Bistro which was very quiet. As a vegan, I was able to find a vegetable panini which was quite good. They had a nice wine selection and the prices were reasonable. Nothing fancy. Most impressive was their server who was bubbly, pleasant, and fast. Desserts looked good! I think this place would have a hard time competing with other more chi-chi bistros in that area, but it's fine."

"My husband and I just paid a visit and it was spectacular. I felt like I'd walked back to an aunt's house in Miami and I'd be happy there. Unlike in most other restaurants, I did not feel rushed or annoyed, not even when a MASSIVE group arrived without reservation and the sudden need for staff to share their attention among the smaller tables and this 15 group of people. Other guests, please note: This place is great, but the restaurant is on the smaller side. Since there is no chain restaurant with tons of table, please note and call ahead to warn them that you will visit with a lot of people. In this way, they can prepare to devote a lot of attention to a single group. My husband and I felt not neglected because of the group, but knowing the industry, I'm sure the staff will go home pretty exhausted today. As it is, the food tasted great, was just really seasoned, and the desserts were decadent without overwhelming. The amount of food definitely justifies the price. For authentic Cuban food go here!"

"The food was not bad, but not the quality I’d expect from Von’s. The desserts were average to below average. The service was lacking. Very friendly but absent. We had a shift change mid-meal and that didn’t help. Fantastic room and very friendly staff but not a high quality fine dining experience"

"Well if this isn't my favourite place on the planet.... these people know how to make an absolutely bangin' iced latte, with the GOOD oat milk too! These guys and Blenz make the best lattes in the city. What REALLY makes this place is their food is GOOD. Like really good. Like incredible. I am talking specifically about the tofu breakfast bun.... I have just no earthly idea how good a breakfast sandwich can be this good, it's illegal! I have always dreamed of a good vegan breakfast sandwich somewhere in YEG, but they are really hard to come by. Every component of this sandwich is so good.... and the bread.. UGHH THE BREAD. So crusty and perfectly encompasses all of the goodness inside. If I could have this every day for breakfast, I would. Don't try me!I want to add as well as the atmosphere inside is chill and welcoming, feels very community focused which I know it is. Feels very queer friendly and just very inclusive in general which is an obvious plus. I always love to check out their little retail section at the front of the shop where they sell locally made wares and consumables they use in the shop.Planning my next visit to these guys soon... as always lol"
