"Barnacle Bailey's has the best Chinese food I've ever had! The service was excellent. The food didn't take too long to arrive. Prices were pretty good. Nice relaxing decor with comfortable booths and seats. Lots of natural light so not gloomy inside."

"Great location in Ladysmith, nice decor, excellent customer service and usually pretty good food. The last time we went our dishes weren't as great as they usually were. Chicken seemed a little chewy? Not terrible but not the usual expected taste/texture. Overall, we usually have a great experience."

"English style pub is a cut or two above the rest, thanks to good food and a helpful staff. THE ROSES: If you 're an Anglophile, Fox and Hounds is a great pub to visit. Wonderful olde English atmosphere. Very good selection of beers on tap. Staff is very helpful in setting up patrons with dishes that allow for dietary restrictions (like gluten intolerance . What I particularly liked is that they were able to make fish and chips for me that was panko breaded rather than battered. I know battered fish and chips is the 'English ' way, but few restaurants this side of the Atlantic get battered fish right. All too often it 's too much batter, or the fish is really greasy. I didn 't feel like taking a chance, so the kitchen breaded my fish and it was really nicely done. The bread pudding is also a standout. THE THORNS: None worth mentioning. THE VERDICT: Fox and Hounds is one of those rare pubs that puts as much (or more? thought into their food as they do their beer. It 's a wonderful 'little bit 'o Britain ' in the quiet backwater town of Ladysmith BC Highly recommend!"

"After having to move my Mother into a dementia facility at last notice, I was fortunate to have my sister-in-laws help to pack up and move things. At the end of a long day, I took her to Kaede for dinner and she was totally amazed at the amount and quality of food she received for the price as compared to the Metro Vancouver area where she lives. Our dinner was fabulous as was the service."

"My first time at Plantitude! I bought a couple of menu items to take away, plus two treats (mocha cupcake and oat-fudge bar), but first sat on the pleasant, shaded patio and enjoyed a mocktail, white bean soup and mac-n-cheese served with salad. Delicious mac-n-cheese! Scrumptious artichoke cakes with corn salsa! There is a comprehensive alcoholic drinks menu. The patio currently has a few igloo pods for segregated dining (April 2021). They are also selling a few products, including vegan fish sauce, vegan Caesar mix and the really good hot-sauce they use in the restaurant. (Currently being sold next door at White Space Living Wish I lived closer to Plantitude. Updated from previous review on 2021-04-24"
