"I ordered fresh oysters, crab cakes and seafood linguine. They are all delicious and well presented. The sauce for the crab cakes was amazing and I liked it very much. The prices are reasonable in terms of the portion and quality."

"This a nice pub restaurant that had awesome fish and chips! We ate on the outside patio this time around and we were served very quickly and the waitress was very polite and pleasant. The kid was delicious as always. Inside they have large televisions to watch sports which they are normally tuned to and you could relax with a pint or a drink of your choice!Overall we are very happy with the service and quality of the food at this place."

"Lunchtime on a Friday, mostly empty. I asked for a ham and cheese sandwich, got kraft cheese slice on a slice of processed ham, on toast. A companion said the clam chowder was thin. The fries were good. Waitress friendly but obviously apologetic. This place used to be much better, the fish and chips used to be outstanding, at least for Ottawa, but mediocre now, too bad."

"We booked a table as i read that it can get very busy, and as my husband uses a wheelchair we couldnt use the upstairs part of the restaurant. The staff offered to put a ramp at the back door for us, as there were steps at the main entrance. We still had to negotiate a couple of small steps, but that was fine. We went through the kitchen to reach the restaurant which looked clean and I could also see that the pie was home made, and looked good. But we were there to try the fish and chips. It only took a few minutes from placing the order to receiving a very generously piled plate of food. The fish, haddock of course, which is what we all prefer round here, was a good size (we ordered medium) and there were more chips tha we could manage. But that fish... the batter was so crisp that it made a delicious crisp crackle when I slip the knife into it, petfect batter, thin, light and crisp. But the fish was even better, so fresh it gleamed white, and really meaty. The mushy peas were lovely too, I think they were tinned ones though. I have had better chips, but these were still pretty good, and I would happily eat them again. The decor is traditional but cosy, the paint is a little worn in places, but I felt very comfortable with it, it was clean and reminded me of my childhood, I wouldn't want to change it. The waitresses were friendly, from the phone call and all through our visit. There is a large range of foods on the menu including a few vegetarian items, they fry in vegetable oil too. There is a wide range of traditional desserts, and I really enjoyed the homemade bonnoffi pie, although it did come with Mr Whippy style ice-cream, which I really don't like. I can recommend this as an excellent sea side visit, traditional good British fish and chips, just a shame that the sauces were in sachets and not in little dishes on request. But thats just me."

"Very accommodating restaurant. We showed up last Saturday from Winterlude as a party of four. It was hectic and we had no reservations. They had us after only 20 minutes. We went down to the bar while we waited Andre, the bartender was great. Then our server John was the best. Friendly, accommodating and personal. The food was also very good (I would recommend HIGHLY the oysters). I definitely go back to Coasters in the future."

"Tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood near the bus station, Whalesbone Oyster Fish Supply is first, a sustainably caught fish shop, but second, an amazing purveyor of brown bag lunches creamy chowder, and fish sandwiches that change according to what is fresh (or freshly smoked) large portions of fish battered or smoked and my favorite oysters served po'boy style! Served on fresh buns, spicy sauces and mayo, topped with lettuce an amazing find. Only a few stools available, but on a sunny day you can sit out at the picnic tables. Don't forget to pick up some fish while you're there!"
