"One certainly doesn't go there for the atmosphere. Dreary place, with western pop music playing over inadequate speakers so you basically hear the drums and not much else. Commercial Chinese art on the walls....more like posters. Service not unfriendly but not friendly either (and we didn't...even get fortune cookies afterward). Fairly quick, though. The food? Our War Wonton was not particularly flavourful, and the wontons were rather starchy. But not bad. The special chow mein with crispy noodles: well, maybe the noodles were crispy at some point, but after putting that oily sauce over them there wasn't any more crispness (well, maybe a bit). The veggies, seafood, and meat was okay. And we did eat everything....so it wasn't that bad. But we could have had something just as good at one of the malls for probably less money. One would expect more out of a city's Chinatown"

"We came here for a nice dinner but were treated with bland, watery soup the restaurant was dark because it was at night I ordered a meal pack sort of thing and ordered mostly noodles (I'm a big fan of noodles) it took about before our food arrived and when it did it tasted of water and salt but nothing else, I don't think this is a restaurant worth returning soon."

"The food is disgusting, the price is experiencing! The First, they don 't ask me which tea I would like to drink, but they charge us the tea fee. The second, the food are disgusting. I ordered lunch special, the chow man is dry, the deep fried chicken and prawn oils and no favor, too much flour. The fired rice too dry and too hard. The server make me uncomfortable. We are 4 adults and 2 children. We told the server we were not very hungry, we wanted to order 3 meals, but the server remind us just 3 meals, then my parents add 1 more meal. Finally we had 1 meal left. The most important thing is the total is $67 dollars, but I don 't know why they charge us $77, then I ask the server is the price including tips? she said yes. I hated they didn 't let me know the price including tips. (Luckily I checked the bill, if not I 'll pay the double tip. Then I paid $77 for the unpalatable lunch. For sure I would come again."

"I ordered take out at a later time which they had accommodated! Very pleased. When I got there I decided I didnt want the coke I ordered and the waitress gave me grief about the 1.95 (over priced) can of coke. She said I had to open the bag if I didnt want it any more.I figured maybe she had a long day and smiled - still tipped her too. Besides the lack of customer service skills the meal was prepared very quickly. The food was sub par, as most chinese food is in victoria. All of it is the same and nothing distinguishes one from another in regards to quality. Nothing is authentic, or cooked to say "hotel" standard.Anyways - I ordered combo for 2 - sweet and sour pork wasnt crispy - the chow mein which was their sun wah mein was decent! I actually enjoyed this. The chopped chicken and cashew chop suey now was rediculous. It was the weakest excuse for chop suey ive ever had. There werent any bean sprouts, zero egg, no cabbage -it was literally mirepoix (probably frozen) tossed with mushrooms, soggy chicken and salted cashews. My overall experience was displeasing and would have given one star - but i gotta give some credit for the speedy service. Wont be going back."

"Ken is owner and chef and is very friendly and accommodating. They are knowledge on food allergies and will alter any menu items that can be altered. The spring rolls are so addictive, and their chicken is by far the most tender I've even had."
