"Wow, what a great neighborship taverne. the beer selection was very good and served in right glasses and very cold and crisp. the selection of the food was not their typical tavern. we felt like we were eating in a friend. if they can only order an item, order the chicken pot pie! simply the best pot pie I've ever eaten. well the extra travel time north of the city center in this charming place in an upscale quarter. the decoration and the refinements give a look into the history of this place, which is considered the oldest operational tavern in chicago. the personal was helpful and patient with first timers. highly recommended."

"The staff was very friendly. one of the biggest takeaways for me was the bad quality of the “Ribeye Steak”. it certainly did not agree with the quality as shown in the pictures on their website, nor taste as well as described. for me, at $36.00 for a “steak like item” the really worth about $3.00 in a box 12 at a local food in the frozen section it was a bloomy!"

"We have been here before. Food was as good as before. Service was a bit slow as the crowd grew but not unexpectedly so. This time it was incredibly loud. You had to shout to talk to the person across the table. They had background music on that was overly loud, adding to the din. It was probably not necessary as you couldn't tell what was playing."
