"We dined on 2/12, and enjoyed the Valentines Day prix fixe menu. The menu had a nice range of options. All of the food was delicious. Presentation was great for everything. The meal waa excellently paced, and we never felt rushed. Service was attentive and polite, but not hovering. As ever, Max Downtown proves itself to be a solid core restaurant for Downtown Hartford."

"This place is a well kept secret in Newington. The best Portuguese cuisine I have ever tasted the seafood mixed plater (Octopus), in my opinion, should be their signature dish. I didn 't add photos because when you look at the menu online, you 'll not believe your eyes. Great family restaurant and very reasonable prices on all meals with super customer service. This restaurant is now on my local top ten restaurants to eat with my friends and loved ones. Do not miss out on a wonderful time and large portions. "ON MY TOP TEN!"

"Typical American Pub style cuisine, with a focus on their vast selection of beer. Both draught and bottles. Got the ribeye steak, asked for it to be prepared medium rare. And it was so. And the steak was sumptuous. Crispy onions and stout butter adorned the top of the cut. I chose to pair my entree with a saison. From DuPont, a brewery in Belgium, it was a light, tart refreshing brew to swill whilst enjoying my meal. Sarah was a wonderfully attentive and helpful server. Definitely will be back!"

"Whatever you get, make it bison! The Bison pot roast is yummy. One person in our group ordered the Kale Salad It was very good, but, seriously? For dessert get the Apple Pecan Crisp. It is cooked to order so it takes about 10 minutes to prepare. Shareable for 2 people, especially if one of those people is a salad eater."
