"I just don’t understand all the highly positive reviews. I have been many times to meet up with friends/family that have suggested here, and I have never had a good meal. At best, the food has been fine, but never enjoyable. The service is very hit or miss. Maybe I’ve just been going on off days or ordering the wrong things, idk."

"I was sad to see all of the little business in the area disappear of the past three years but The Refinery is a knock out place in this downtown area for food and very nice beer. I sampled the charcuterie plate and the meat lovers pizza both are fantastic:Bohemian pilsner 25ibuA light tartness nice pilsner bite I don’t think I could but if you like pilsner clear and crisp.Red ipa 69 ibuLight nose reddish colour wonderful light flavour with a light hop finish nearly bitter but not a hint of smokiness slight salvary glands work nice finish on the lipsScotch ale 10 ibuTraditional ale with light smokiness flat smooth finish nice amber colour Silver city ice 15 ibuSweet nose very light colour more of a Polish pilsner finish a light and a little peppermint fiCream ale Weird front and back flavor not sure there is a hint of cinnamon and very light pepper Trail ale about 18 ibuNice nose with slight sweetness the dark amber colour compliments the flavor"

"The food was amazing! We only wish we could stay longer to explore more dishes! The recipes are all created by Pino himself and made with love. We were presented with roses from Pino when we were seated and the staff were all super friendly. We stayed well after closing time to visit with Pino and his chef and felt like family."

"This is not a walk in the restaurant .. it is a banquet hall:only had our Christmas celebration at the riverbelle. from the people who sat on our table, and others on our party: primed rib with yorkshire pudding: had taste but. pretty and chewing. the chicken cordon blue .. was not fresh, clear made from a box and was it baked or fried? I'll bet. now the fresh vegies :not definitiw from a freezer. the only positive: chocolate cake for the desert and waitress"

"I was there with my sister a few years ago. The food and service was amazing and fabulous. So after the restrictions of Covid lifted, we planned a well needed getaway to BC (from Alberta) around going back to the Colander for another treat to...their fabulous Italian cuisine. While understanding the Covid Restrictions were tough on businesses and restaurant's, I felt I could do no favors by smoozing my comments. The food (spaghetti sauce and meatballs) was tasteless and very disappointing to the point, i will not be back. The chicken was also tasteless and dry. My hopes in this review and others I have read is to allow the owners managers to go back to previous recipe's so the Restaurant can return to it's glor and continue serving for many years to come. ."
