I must say, I really enjoyed our visit here. Right when we sat down, the waitress came over and gave us a complimentary bowl of mixed nuts! She took our drink order, and in minutes we had our Sangria (which was nice a fruity.) We ordered a salmon flatbread appy and it was DELICIOUS! Place looks great and food was yummy and creative. first time we went, we had great service. The next day we were the only ones in the place for dinner and the server though it was more important to socialize with the male bartender. While we waited for more drinks and overall service. One bad apple can spoil the whole pie. Other than the one hickup we had a pleasant time read more.

"This place is one of my favorite places in Rossland before it got turned into a Gastropub. I dropped by for a afternoon snack and I got myself the John Candy burger with fries for the first time in years. It was juicier than the...last time I had it. The staff was nice and I made a joke towards the GM, who is a friend of mine. The next time I am there, I hope to be there with friends so we can have a business lunch/dinner."

"Best food I have had in the Kootenays to date. The presentation was incredible. My mom had the ginger beef and I had the pad Thai definitely will be back next time I’m in town. Docking you a star as your waffle iron was out of commission and you were out of halibut. Halibut burger I hear is superb."

"I was there with my sister a few years ago. The food and service was amazing and fabulous. So after the restrictions of Covid lifted, we planned a well needed getaway to BC (from Alberta) around going back to the Colander for another treat to...their fabulous Italian cuisine. While understanding the Covid Restrictions were tough on businesses and restaurant's, I felt I could do no favors by smoozing my comments. The food (spaghetti sauce and meatballs) was tasteless and very disappointing to the point, i will not be back. The chicken was also tasteless and dry. My hopes in this review and others I have read is to allow the owners managers to go back to previous recipe's so the Restaurant can return to it's glor and continue serving for many years to come. ."
