"First time trying northern Italian cuisine during my Hunter Valley trip. Love every bit of it! The food was simple; but ingredients, which are fresh and grown locally, really make it taste superb. The theme of II Cacciatore seems to be semi-formal/ fine dining so it's not suitable if you come in a group or with kids. The food would take ages to be served and the kid's menu won't be available after 6:30pm. <br/ <br/ If you arrive with your date, it would be perfect to talk through the wait and drink wine."

"I've come here quite a few times for trivia. When I first started coming I would order a meal but I've generally been disappointed. Tried burgers plain) and steaks overcooked). Schnitzels are fine but only worth it when it's a special on trivia nights $12 v $19 normally). Had a salad once which I actually really enjoyed whilst eating but then felt unwell that night from it. I only eat the sweet potato fries or waffle fries now."

"Arrived in restaurant about 4.15. Placed an order from the menu. Was told the item I ordered was from the lunch menu, which finished at 4 pm. But the menu was still on the table at 4.15. But I was told there was one item still available. So I ordered it. Then I was told because it was now evening time, it was$5 more expensive. I asked if it was a larger portion than on the lunch menu and was told no, same size just that it was now evening time. I felt it was a rip off. Lunch menus should be removed from the table by 4pm."
