"Golden Szechuan has great ambience, lovely red lanterns, fish tank and warm decor. Ordered small chicken & sweetcorn soup between two and each had two servings. Followed up with Kung Po chicken, which had a hefty kick from the chillies; smokey duck, which was moist & tender; steamed vegetables & rice.The duck, which was served sliced, but on the bone, was difficult to negotiate with chop sticks, as were the large pieces of pak choi. A bit of perserverance and a departure from european table manners was the remedy and we had a very tasty meal.No room to try any dessert."

"You would never guess from the location in a suburban strip mall, but this place has some of the best authentic Chinese food we've had on this side of the Pacific. We had the deceptively difficult to prepare szechuan classic mapo tofu and it was...perfect. We also had salt and pepper squid and it was the freshest tasting we've ever had in Victoria. We went for dinner and it was great. We understand they've had some issues with the lunch buffet, but the dinner was faultless. Great, friendly service and reasonable prices too."

"The reception was good,the waiter excellent,the room felt comfy and quiet enough so one could have a pleasant conversation.One meal, which included salmon was good,the other with shrimps had plenty of vegetables which were unforunatly soaked in a sauce spoiling the rest.All in all,if you like a simple meal at a fair price in an ok setting,then this restaurant is fine."

"I'll never go back. 32,00 for everyone who can eat sushi. there were only three of us. each order from the menu is a piece. I'm glad I asked how big each job is. I can't imagine if I don't. had a piece sashimi per order. we ordered what we thought was enough to eat, but it wasn't. So we waited for half an hour to command another because the waitress did not come near our table until then. then half an hour later, after I asked if it was still coming, it came. until then we were so angry at what seemed to be a mission to stop everyone from having a proper meal there under a two-hour sitting limit. it is not a good place to go. we will go back"
