"This is a tiny, informal place that does home cooked food, well. It's so much better than bigger places serving warmed over bought-in stuff from food service companies like Brakes. We had pan-fried sardines with Romesco sauce, hand cut chips and salad. Local, seasonal, made with care. They also do a range of home made cakes which we didn't try but which looked the business. Simple, good quality, and very much recommended."

"Absolutely outstanding food. Ordered a burger and dirty fries as a monthly cheat meal and my word, I regret being on a diet! By far the best in Truro. "Nigel Tabb’s Sunday roasts are always special but this menu was particularly good. We only have beef as a rare treat, so, when we do have it, it has to be good. Today’s short rib dish was superb. The accompanying dishes on the menu made for an excellent leisurely lunch. Highly recommended."

"A few days ago sat for breakfast, although the menu said that avacado was available, the staff told me it was actually guacamole! I just ordered a flowered eggs on granat toast and my man ordered the full English. we waited an incredible amount. time for our food, I thought they lost our order. I can only assume that the toaster was broken, since my toast was only dry brot that had become soggy and pasty under the water, from the fried eggs that were hard and had a kind of brown powder on them (not sure what it was). my man said the full English was average. will not come back."
