"We have loved the Lake House every time we have dined there. We were treated exceptionally well, and the staff know the line between being attentive, but also allowing you to enjoy your meal. Staff are very knowledgeable about all aspects of the dining experience, and go out of their way to ensure you have a great time. The food is exceptional, and the wine list extensive. I would recommend to all who enjoy fine dining. We will absolutely be returning again"

"I have been visiting here for many years and love the bread, coffee and food in general. Today I attended a sourdough workshop and cannot recommend it highly enough. The 'mystery ' was taken out of sourdough and I learned so much. We were well fed and watered and left with course notes, a certificate, leaven, flour to feed our leaven, and numerous delicious loaves of bread. It was worth every cent. A thoroughly enjoyable day!"

"My man and I ate here recently on a trip to daylesford after our high time. we went here when it was a Tuesday night and not much else was open. we are very glad that this place was! the restaurant has a beautiful feeling when they are in and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. eating was wonderful, including slowly roasted bark meat, roasted pumpkin and croquettes. we made us feel very full and satisfied. I would recommend checking next time for daylesford."

"Came here for breakfast on the way home after a pleasant weekend away in Daylesford. Having good memories of the place from a couple years ago, and expecting a similarly positive experience, I was disappointed when this visit turned out to be quite the opposite. Obviously under (recent?) new management, the service was slow and inattentive, my small request for a dish modification due to allergy was not accommodated, and the coffee took ages to come. I assumed the newspapers provided were free for customers to read while eating, yet I was asked if the paper I was clearly reading was my own and almost had it taken off me. I was unpleasantly surprised at the difference from my last visit in every respect, and I left with a very bad taste in my mouth from the whole experience. Not a good end to the weekend."
