What Charles Carroll likes about Rod And Gun Club:
Everglades City’s and probably one of Florida’s most unique steps back in history. Founded in 1864, the interior hasn’t seemed to change since then. The waitress was a local from Chokoloskee, Fl., who was excellent and informative. The food was excellent and served piping hot. We both had Grouper, and it was some of the best we’ve ever had. The two stars are for the restaurant setting and ambiance. The setting on the Barron River was lovely and relaxing. Food was just okay, service was terrible. Our server, though friendly, never came out to check on us after taking our orders. Someone else delivered our food. No refills or waters were offered.
